Who We Are:

The Ilkley Pool and Lido Community Group (IPLCG) is a non-incorporated community organisation run by a Committee on behalf of its members. It was established in April 2024 and the constitution can be found here.

The next AGM will be held in September 2026 when the Committee will be elected including a new Chair – a post which is currently vacant.

Read a bit more about the committee below …

Davy Simpson

I’ve been a Pool & Lido user for the past 15 years and previously was Chair of the Friends of Ilkley Lido (FOIL). My passion for the Lido is from having the chance to exercise in the open-air with the moors backdrop and how great I feel after a swim! I’ve got 2 daughters at Primary School in Ilkley, who are

John

I’m the current membership secretary for Ilkley Swimming Club, have a daughter at IGS, and have a keen interest in open water swimming. In live in Ben Rhydding, having moved back to the area back in 2021

Joanne Tinker

A professional artist and gallery owner. I swim with the masters at Ilkley Swim Club. I am at my happiest In the pool, sea, lake or river. Wants to be reincarnated as a mermaid!

Paul Stephens (Secretary)

Paul is a keen runner, cyclist and swimmer. He is currently Secretary of Ilkley Harriers and of the recently formed Ilkley Pool and Lido Community Group. He has a background in local government and in working in partnership with business and local communities to develop local economies and reduce inequalities

Debbie Rosen

Debbie is a keen user of both the indoor pool and the lido, whether it’s for a quick dip and a chat or training in all weathers for a long swim in a lake (at a fair-to-middling pace!). When not swimming, she’s often out walking in the Dales or baking cakes, and fitting in work on climate change at the University of Leeds.

Annette Bearpark

Annette has lived in Ilkley for 28 years. She is a GP in Leeds and strongly believes in the benefits for physical and mental health of swimming.

Roger Tilbrook

Roger Tilbrook is an Ilkley resident and retired Chartered Building Surveyor with experience in strategic property management, maintenance and historic buildings. He is a Trustee of Ilkley Manor House and enjoys using the Pool & lido to train for swimming and triathlon events.

Jacki Barson

I have lived in Ilkley for 15 years. I am a retired GP and feel that the Pool and Lido is an essential ingredient in the health and wellbeing of the community, as well as a beautiful place to just ‘be’.

Juliet O’Callaghan

I live in Ilkley and work in Bradford as an educational and child psychologist. I swim regularly and find it is a great way for me to stay fit and relieve stress. I strongly believe that losing our pool and lido will reduce access for those in our community who need it most.
